Best Guide to Select Clickbank Product

If you're new to clickbank affiliate then you need to know few things before you promote any product successfully. Blindly selecting any random product because of gravity and sales percentage will not help you at all. You'll hardly make sales if you behind internet marketing or high gravity products just because they're in demand. Ofcourse you can beat the competition and make sales irrespective of the factors which affects sales on clickbank but it'll be like choosing the time-consuming path in your promotion strategy.

How To Sellect Clickbank Product

This is my personal criteria which i learned from many other successful affiliate marketers for choosing the right products to promote. Feel free to comment if you have any suggestions or need clarifications for this criteria.
  • Product Knowledge - You need to have some product knowledge before you promote it to your visitors. For example, if you have no idea about wordpress then it'll be hard for you to sell wordpress themes. Also make sure that product search doesn't take too much of your time. If it requires you to study too much about the product for promotion then it's better you select other products for promotion.
  • Sales Page Leak - Make sure that page has no-opt in box or pop-up. Why ? Opt-in service is leak which takes user away from your browser cookie and if they make sales after reading mail or newsletter then your effort of driving traffic is completely wasted. Also make sure there are not about us, affiliates, contact us, free-trial page or other links at the bottom of sales page, these links also drive users away from the sales. You have to filter all these leaky sales page products or ask for alternate sales page in your clickbank redirection by contacting vendor.
  • Trustworthy Product - Product needs to be good so that people should not complain after sales. If you promote bad product then it becomes tough for you to promote another product as there needs to be more effort to drive more visitors as you lost previous visitors because of bad sales recommendation.
  • Gravity - The gravity of product shouldn't be too high. But again this is subjective for folks who are pro at driving traffic and working on competition. If you're going by the criteria in this list, then my suggestion is to avoid high gravity products. You need to consult with multiple affiliates sometimes to find the moderate gravity percentage for yourself.
  • Stingy Niches - Some niches like 'Make money online' and 'Internet marketing' are very stingy and have so many bad merchants and useless products. You have to personally study these two niches for some period and filter the products before selecting the right merchant with genuine product. Other than these two niches, there are some more stingy niches and merchants which you need to personally test or observe before promoting any of their product.
  • Scarcity, Hype and Deception - Some sales pages are easy to test for scarcity check, for example - ' This product will make you money without you having to lift your finger' or ' This product will teach you to lose 20 kg in 7 days without any diet' etc. Hype is also very important part in product promotion, sometimes it works if product is good but if the product is bad then it backfires and you'll lose readers or list members. There are some merchants known for their deceptive tactics and you should google for their info before promoting any of their products.
  • Product and Vendor reputation - If you're promoting any established or old product then you should definitely read some reviews about it before promoting. Same applies for vendor reputation as well. See if vendor is reachable via email or support forums, check how friendly and transparent he is in his replies to forum posts or emails. This is to ensure that you're not promoting product of owner who is going to wind up after making X sales.
  • Sales Percentage - The product you want to promote should give you more sales percentage. My personal lookout is 50% or more from any product. You can also set this as 50$ per product as your personal criteria, nothing wrong with that at all. Make sure high sales percentage are legit and pass the rest of the criteria for promotion.
  • Facebook Likes or Social Proof - Social proof can be faked easily and many merchants are already into this for long time. So don't fall for facebook likes on products or constant twitter praising about some products. Always remember - REAL people don't promote products they use for every tweet in their account. :)
  • Vendor Affiliate Pitch - Some vendors personally contact affiliates on their paypal address and spam hell out of that email ID. If you see any vendor promoting their other products on your paypal id then simply unsubscribe them. Some vendors also contact active affiliates for higher percentages on product which are usually deceptive, for example, 1 sale will be credited to you and next will be to owner. Avoid any such schemes with product owners. Always make sure that you're getting credited for every sale you make and are not falling for any sales leaks by owner of product.
Clickbank Policies

Before you get into product promotion i would like to tell you about CDR (content distribution requirement) and Dormant account policy. Why ? Because if you're new to clickbank then you need to know these two policies before promoting any product in clickbank. CDR - Content Distribution Requirement As per this policy you need to make sales from five different payment processors in order to CDR lifted from your account. Note that paypal sales don't qualify for lifting the CDR so you need to make sales directly from credit card purchase or from processor other than paypal like google checkout etc. Dormant Account Clickbank has policy for inactive affiliate accounts which helps them maintain the account in active state. If you make sales and fall under CDR for more than 90 days then chances are there that clickbank will charge 5$ to that account per 15 days as dormant account charges. I know these rules are bit tough on new affiliate marketers but unless you do some aggressive affiliate marketing there is no way to get over these two barriers inside clickbank. Hope this criteria and the rest of the information helps for your clickbank affiliate product promotions
